The CAS Advisory Committee is composed of experts in accelerator science and technology working in (some of) the member states of CERN. The CERN Director for Accelerators and Technology either nominates or approves the members of the committee. Members are asked to serve on the committee for a period of five years.
The committee meets typically once per year and the recommendations that emerge are discussed directly with the Director for Accelerators and Technology.
