PLATJA D'ARO

              

The municipality of Castell – Platja d'Aro i S'Agaró, is located in the geographic area of the Costa Brava in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, and belongs to the region of Baix Empordà, province of Girona, Catalonia. comprised of the towns of Castell d'Aro inland, and Platja d'Aro i S'Agaró on the coast, it spreads across the eastern end of the Aro Valley, a narrow plain drained by the Ridaura river between the southern mountains of the Gavarres and Serra de Cadiretes ranges.

The municipality has an extension of 21,9 Km2, and borders to the north with Calonge, the west with Santa Cristina d'Aro, to the south with Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the coast on the east..

One of the main characteristics of the municipality is its privileged location at a strategic point of the Mediterranean.
